SUQQU Stretch Face Mask

Lately, my skin has been feeling so neglected.

I never ever go to bed without washing my face and I make sure every scrap of make up is removed (with Eve Lom) but my skin needed a major 'lift' and boost of goodness. I was really excited about trying out the SUQQU refined flow stretch mask.

Yes, I look like Mike Myers from Halloween (I even scared myself when I looked in the mirror) but there is only one word for this face mask - AMAZING!

It reminds me of the SK II Pitera face mask, which has the same concept but the difference with the SUQQU one (apart from the ingredients) is that it has two flaps that hang down near the jawline and you lift them up to your temples-giving your face a 'lift'.

So, a bit of blurb about the face mask. It's described as an Intensive Skin-tightening and Anti-ageing Treatment, inspired by SUQQU's signature Gankin massage technique. The mask is designed to tighten the skin and sharpen the face line, counteracting sagging skin with key active ingredients.

An ingredient called Lactic Bacterium Whey extract improves skin discolouration and dullness from deep within the skin.

My skin was baby soft (even the day after) and my make up glided on effortlessly. My face definitely felt lifted! I even used the left over serum in the sachet and massaged it into my skin before I went to sleep (I'm scraping out the remains from the sachet and using them very sparingly). It is a wonder mask and super serum! Love it.

I've recommended a few of my friends who are getting married to get some of these before their big day. I know some brides worry about having abrasive facials so something like the SUQQU mask is perfect!

Just try not to scare anyone when wearing.

OMG it's RMK

I've always been a fan of RMK cosmetics, I love the Japanese heritage, the sleek, quirky, shiny packaging and of course the super cool products.

Rumiko, the founder of RMK has created this range with regular women in mind; make up that is easy to use and apply, not tricky or designed for make up artists use only. It's 'comfortable' make up, if that makes sense, you can buy the products and recreate the same look at home and on a daily basis- simple.

So, I'm loving the Ingenious Powder Eyes in metallic green, check it out;

It's a real sparkler and is major hot on top of a matte black eyeshadow.

I also love this trio;

These three colours are in one palette, which is amazing. The coral really compliments the dark chocolate brown for Kim Kardashian eyes. I love how you get these three colours together -staple colours for any beauty junkie's make up bag.

These are so easy to use, they're not highly pigmented which is great for newbies learning to do eye make up, so you just apply more and more as you go along rather than trying to have to rectify any mistakes.

I want to try the ingenious pencil eyeliner and the gel eyeliner next, so will give my opinion on those next time.

Taste (well they look) just like candy..

If you didn't already guess, that line is from Foxy Brown's infamous tune 'Candy'.

I must admit that my obsession lately has been with nail colour, I just find that the brighter they are, the more they cheer me up on a depressing Wintery day (which we've been having loads of).

I have a few things to share with you beauty junkies out there. Let's start with a hot line up of Orly's Sweet collection of nail polishes (not even out yet)!!

My favourite is Pixie Stix (the coral pink) and Cotton Candy (the candy floss pink). I just LOVE pinks and corals and these hit the spot for me, they are rich creamy colours too, you can get away with just one coat of colour. The green (gumdrop) is like the Chanel's Jade that sold out last year, it's so hot with a gliitery polish on top (will take some pics tomorrow and will post on fb) and the yellow (lemonade) has been predicted as a hot trend for Spring/Summer 2010.

I love when my nails are manicured and polished, I feel so horrible when they're not and something like a nail polish or lipstick can make you feel so much better-a real confidence booster!

These gorgeous candy colours aren't out yet, but I've been told they'll be available from March.

Give in to your sweet tooth, without the sugar ;)

Is your skin feeling emotional?

Hi,

So, a question from Natalie on the Make up It Girl Facebook fan page got me thinking...

When I used to work in make up and skin care, when you would ask customers what type of skin they had, most claimed to have 'Sensitive skin'. What a lot of people don't realise is that Sensitive skin is not a type of skin but a skin condition.

Now, Natalie is a classic example of someone with Sensitive skin. For those of you who aren't sure if you have sensitive skin, ask yourself if when you use certain products; does your skin get irritated, leaving your skin red and blotchy?

Anyway, back to what got me thinking, your skin is a living organ so I guess it must have feelings. So, if you have sensitive skin, is your skin just feeling emotional? or is it fed up of harsh chemicals, parabens and alcohol based products?

I'm no dermatologist and maybe my Chemistry mates (Parwinder AKA Lady Par-Par and Surveen AKA Binny) can help me with this subject. Do we make our skin sensitive? Is it product related? Is it like an allergy? I personally think we do make our skin sensitive, so we need to try and de-sensitise it. There is a product by Comfort Zone called Skin Resonance that claims to do just that.

If you do have sensitive skin, I recommend you go organic. Organic isn't just some sort of hippy phase, it's the future. Organic products doesn't have any parabens. I just bought some organic chocolate cake today which I can't wait to try. There are some organic skin care products and ranges like Sacred Nature, Badger Balms, Dr Hauschka etc, there are loads around now.

A few tips for those of you with Sensitive skin and how to manage it;

* Avoid alcohol based products

* Use fragrance-free products (therefore no alcohol)

* Check the product says 'hypoallergenic')

* Go organic

* Avoid exfoliators, but Chantecaille's Rice and Geranium is amazing and doesn't have any bits in (really gentle and fresh).

* Maybe you're allergic to something so go get it checked out with one of those intolerance tests.

Major apologies, mini make up

Hiya, (and a belated Happy New Year)

I am so sorry for the major delay in updating my blog. Not only have I been major busy but I also believe in blogging about something worth saying and not just for the sake of it.

So, everyone starts off a new year with resolutions like giving up chocolate (NEVER), going to the gym (NEVER) or whatever else. I'm starting my new year with objectives like I must get a webcam so I can start vlogging and I must spend more time with my babies (my doggies).

So, over the Christmas and New Year holidays there was one product I was very impressed with. I must admit when I first got it, I thought 'yeah, yeah, just another mascara'. However, good things really do come in small packages;

This is a mini mascara by Bourjois, called Volume Glamour in Ultra Black. There a few things I love about this product;

1. It really does give you volumised glamourous lashes.

2. The size, because mascara should be changed every 3 months because of the build up of bacteria, this size is perfect and you don't feel awful throwing it out because you've not wasted anything.

3. The cute mobile phone hook thing, love it! Perfect in case of an emergency and it's dangling off your phone.

Just to finish off, I know it's not make up related but I must show you something fabulous;

These rings belong to my sister, Gripse. I haven't seen anything like these anywhere on the High St. They will soon be available to buy, will keep you updated. However, if you just can't wait, message me or post a message on my wall and I'll get Gripse to contact you.

Je'Taime Bourjois

Sorry, got a bit carried away with the whole French thing! So, the Clothes Show Live has came to an end (sad face). It was so much fun, I met some really cool people (The girls from Never Fully Dressed, Kim at 2Adorn, the Bourjois gals) and I got some great bargains too! I am definitely going on the last day next year, I couldn't believe how cheap stuff went, apart from the make up brush stand! I was not happy with them, the brushes are amazing and yeah they were a bargain, however, they bumped up their prices on the last day and I bought some for my mate (Lulu lost all the nice Chanel brushes I got her) after the woman on the stand said they won't be going down, then in the last hour they reduced them big time!

Moving on, I am in love with Bourjois' Illuminating Touch. It's a peachy/gold highlighter in the cute Bourjois packaging. Take a look;

It's an easy to use highlighter and gives a nice peachy shimmery sheen, I have applied it with a blusher brush on my cheekbones and on my brow bone. I actually forgot how good Bourjois' products are and I'm glad the Bourjois stand at the Clothes Show reminded me about the good quality and nice range of products. Those French certainly do it well!

Clothes Show Live

Wow, the Clothes Show Live really has delivered this year on it's 21st anniversary! Well done!

It was sooooooo busy, I normally can't stand to be among crowds of people, but I really enjoyed people-watching, there were all kinds of people there, all searching for something and some trying to 'be searched for' by model scouts. I just don't know how some of the girls were wearing sky scraper heels and party dresses/all dressed up...to go shopping??? I mean, would they been seen on the HIgh St dressed like Lady Gaga? I'm going to try and get some pictures to show you (if you haven't already been to the Clothes Show and seen for yourself).

So, enough of me thinking out aloud! So, what did I see that was so good? and oh so bad?

Let's start with so good! I am completely in love with 2adorn, fabulous hair accessories, check out some of the creations on the website;

OMG! I couldn't decide which one I wanted because they're all amazing and I wanted them all (if I could afford it). The lovely designer/founder Kim helped me go for an amazing peacock headband fascinator and I can't wait to wear it! Have a look;

I also love Siren and Dahlia but haven't had a chance to buy anything from those stands yet because the ques are a joke! There is a lovely dainty jewellery stand as well called Mahala but I need to check that out properly to tell you more but my mates bought some gorgeous chains with the most pretty little charms. I want to get one like Deb's with the skull and the rose.

Well done to Carmex for finally getting there butt at the Clothes Show, selling cherry and orginal Carmex. I've got a sweet badge saying I (heart) Carmex. You jealous? Haha

Jelly Pong Pong had a good offer on, a goody bag for £10 with 5 decent products, I wouldn't use them personally but would make a nice gift or stocking fillers.

Amie, a skincare range for young skin also made its debut at the Clothes Show, educating young girls the importance of keeping your skin clean with good natural products, not harsh medicated products.

See what I mean by how good it's been, it's all to much to take in but I love it!

So, now for the oh so bad, let's start with the '6 in 1 bronzer'. OMG, the product was totally grosse and cheap, I'm not even sure what it was called but these poor girls were walking around the show with tide marks on their faces like they'd put their make up on with closed eyes! It shouldn't be allowed! It claimed it was a 6 in 1 bronzer because you could use it on eyes,lips, etc etc. Errrm, who the hell wants bronzed lips? and like you can't do that with other bronzers, so much for a USP, they need a new marketing manager or how about just keep the product in poundland.

Glitter? OMG, young girls please don't waste your parents hard earned moula on cheap glitter make up that goes everywhere! These kind of stands shouldn't be allowed to exhibit. I think the Clothes Show should set some rules that these brands should have some standards.

I'm off to go and gorge on Lindt chocs (the red ones). So, I'll be back tomorrow or Wed.
