Supliform cellulite gel

I don't have a clue where Sarah over at got this product from but I really like it!

I ran out of Liz Earle's energising hip and thigh gel (which I highly recommend, it's a brilliant product) and Sarah kindly gave me a tube of this foreign cellulite gel.

At first I thought it was an anti-inflammatory gel so was going to give it my husband, but then noticed that awful word 'cellulite'. I couldn't read anything else, I think it's Romanian, not sure.

It smells very leafy and clean, it's a rather thick gel which instantly sinks into skin. I've only used it 4 times so can't comment if my thighs have improved but they definitely feel smoother. It's unfortunate that the tube is rather small because I think I'll finish the lot off in 2 weeks, maybe less.

Have you heard of this brand? Do you know where it's available from? I need a supersize in my life!

BIOeffect: The next generation of anti-ageing serum

Do you remember the movie ‘Death Becomes Her’? Well, I remember watching it a few times and each time my mother and I (even though I was only 11 at the time) would wish for a magical potion which promised eternal youth. I remember my mother saying at the time “I bet you any money there will be something like that in the future”.

Well, there isn’t an elixir of eternal youth yet but I have discovered my own magical potion in the form of BIOeffect serum, recently launched in the UK in December. I have been testing out a sample for the past three weeks, I am preciously sparing the last few drops until I can afford to buy some.

BIOeffect EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) is a powerful anti-ageing serum which improves the appearance and health of your skin by encouraging the skin to repair its own cells.

Its key ingredient is Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), a substance which occurs naturally in human skin and which has the ability to speed up the rate of cell turnover within the skin. Here is the science part about EGF;

EGF contains “cellular activators”, proteins that are vital for the maintenance and repair of skin cells. With age the level of these cellular activators within our skin decreases. Our skin renews itself less frequently, and begins to look less radiant and more wrinkled.

The EGF Serum is a groundbreaking innovation for the cosmetic market, as it contains the EGF cellular activator that supports the renewal of the skin cells. The serum leaves you with a healthier and fresher appearance and moisturises, while at the same time it inhibits ageing of the skin.

The EGF cellular activator occurs naturally in the human skin. When applied topically to the skin, it only works locally where it is applied. The skin cells recognise the EGF cellular activator and initiate a molecular process when it binds to a receptor on their outer surface. Research has shown better results than invasive treatment with Botox if the cellular activators were applied twice a day for 4-6 weeks. This research forms the basis of the use of EGF in skin care products.

I have been using it twice daily, in the morning under make up and at night after removing make up. It glides onto and absorbs into skin effortlessly, leaving it feeling silky smooth. My skin currently feels as soft as a baby’s butt! I have also been using it around my eye area, in the hope that it will prevent any lines (I’m hoping that continuous use will keep crow’s feet away, especially as botox is certainly not in my budget for the next few years).I predict that BIoeffect Serum will be a huge hit this year!

Benefits of using BIOeffect Serum regularly;

- Reverses the signs of ageing.

- Diminishes uneven pigmentation.

- Adds radiance and luminosity.

- Moisturises deeply.

- Eliminates dry spots.

- Improves complexion.

- Approved by Dermatologists.

- The only plant derived EGF in skincare

New Mystikol Powder Eyeliners from jane iredale

Nothing stood between Cleopatra’s conquests and the disarming power of her sexy, smoky eyes. Nothing, that is, except the unfortunate amount of heavy metals in the kohl pencils she was using to embellish her peepers.  Times have changed, but the allure of a perfectly crafted smoky eye has not.

In her new Mystikol collection, Jane Iredale has packed all the sensuality and mystique of an ancient Egyptian beauty tradition into a dual-ended powder eyeliner that makes it impossible to look anything less than stunning.  High-end skin care ingredients are combined with natural botanicals and super saturated pigments for the longest lasting smoky eye.

Treasure Hunt for YSL Rouge Pur Couture in 24

My fellow beauty bloggers have had to put up with my ranting and moaning about how I have been unable to get my manicured hands on the YSL rouge pur couture lipstick in blond ingenu (number 24). It's a part of the Spring Collection and I have been on the hunt for it for THREE WEEKS! The lovely kind Jo at has tried to order me one from Debenhams online, so we'll see if they send Jo an email saying "sorry but we are currently out of stock..bla bla".

So, 21 days, 2 waiting lists and 8 YSL make up counters later, still no Blond Ingenu! My hunt for this lipstick has actually turned into an obessesion! It is the perfect nude shade of a fresh luminous peach/pink. Everyone knows how I love YSL lipsticks and how I have converted ALL of my friends from MAC to YSL. I have said for years that they are the best quality lipsticks around! and the colours are just getting better and better, which made me wonder..

Will YSL's lipsticks soon become elusive and overpriced like Chanel nail polishes?

I LOVE Chanel nail polishes, I first bought Rouge noir after watching Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction when I was 16, when it was £9.50 but Chanel nail polishes are not worth what they cost now.

So, back to YSL. What do you think about the future of YSL lippies?

Have you tried them and do you love them like me? I own 10 now and it's a very expensive addiction.

Make me Glow, Glow, Glow

I love making my skin glow and throughout the years I've discovered different products and different ways to make skin glow.

A recent discovery is from luxury Italian Skincare range called Comfort Zone, only found in exclusive spas and resorts around the World.

The Absolute Pearl light concentrate is a glowing oxygenating hydrator with pearl powder, oxygenating factors and olive oil.

Due to the pearl powder's high content of amino acids and mineral salts, it's highly moisturising and deeply nourishing. It regulates skin tone (it's not a whitening product but if the whole system is used correctly, it will treat pigmentation).

I have been scraping out sachet samples of this product for the last month, I love it. I use it purely for cosmetic reasons because it gives my skin a nice natural luminous glow throughout the cold months when my skin is paler.

When I ran out of Absolute Pearl, I turned to New CID's i-glow, a marbelized glow powder. I love using this over primer (the New CID i-prime, which slides on and sinks into skin like velvet) and under bronzer. When you apply bronzer on top of i-glow, you'll love the effect, a really subtle shimmer.

If you're not really into shimmer but want a really natural looking glow, I highly recommend Dr Perricone's No Foundation Foundation! I LOVE this product to make skin glow. I use this on the weekends, I put it on top of my Chantecaille tinted moisturiser, around cheekbones. I prefer the coverage of Chantecaille for all over my skin, I think Dr P's No Foundation Foundation is for the lucky gals who have even skintone or perfect skin. Brilliant glowing product though, especially as the 'natural glow' was huge on the S/S 11 catwalks.

When I used to work as a make-up artist, some of my older clients loved the idea of having shimmering skin but said it highlighted fine lines. So I recommend using a primer or Trish McEvoy's Line Refiner and then apply shimmer products.

Thanks for reading, gotta glow ;)

Interview with the Queen of HD Brows, Nilam Patel

HD Brows is the latest craze to hit the beauty world, with all the X Factor contestants recently having them done.

I was extremely fortunate to get the Queen and pioneer of HD Brows, Nilam Patel to answer some questions that you guys have about the HD Brows System. Nilam has been actively involved in the beauty industry for 15 years, with a celebrity client list to add to her credentials, she offers a range of treatments at the Brooklands Clinic in Milton Keynes such as dermal fillers, tooth whitening and cosmetic surgery.
Befores and after images with HD BROWS
1) What are HD BROWS?

A brow shaping treatment focusing on brow design. It is not tattooing or make-up.
2) Where have HD BROWS come from and why the sudden craze?

From celebrity brow shapers Nilam and Amita Patel who have created the HD BROWS shaping method. The sudden craze is because of the celeb following and the press/media coverage. Katie price trained in the treatment herself along with her make-up artist and beauty therapist so they showed it on her show. After being shown on her show, it created more interest. Cher Lloyd is currently having her brows HD’d to a better shape and the process has been gradual but she is too young to tattoo.

3) What is the difference between a HD BROWS treatment and a regular brow shape and tint?

It is a 7 step process which combines waxing tinting threading. It focuses mainly on brow design not hair removal.

4) What is involved in the process?

Waxing, tinting, threading and design. A HD BROWS Technician takes into account the clients face shape, hair growth, personality, age,etc and expectations to design the best brows for that person. It is not a set or standard shape. It is individually designed. It often requires aftercare and re-growth from the client but the client doesn’t have to walk around with hairy brows for months it can be done gradually.

5) Is it suitable for everyone? (all skin colours/guys?)

Yes, definitely, all ages, skin colours and both male & female. I have a large number of male clients that have this treatment done.

6) How much does it cost?

£25 - £50 depending on where you have it done

7) Katie Price and Colleen Rooney are famous for having HD BROWS and they look quite shiny?

Why is that? Or is that botox not the HD BROWS?

Katie price has her brows tattooed and she has had the HD BROWS treatment as her preferred method of brow shaping to maintain them. Colleen has not had HD BROWS done. As far as I know she has had them tattooed.

When brows are tattooed the client has to put a greasy balm on them so that they heal properly. Katie Price also adds a lot of make up to her brows to make them look much bigger. This is nothing to do with the HD BROWS treatment that is make-up. Also, Katie and Colleen have a preference to how they like their brows to look. HD BROWS is nothing to do with tattooing.

8) One of my readers asked if she is suitable for HD BROWS because she has a scar in her eyebrow.

Will the HD BROWS treatment highlight or disguise the scar?

Depending on where the scar is, it will help disguise it but the client will be shown how to draw in a few hairstrokes to camouflage it every day.

9) How long do HD BROWS last?

It can take a few sessions to achieve the HD BROWS BROW result as many people have over plucked and spoiled their natural shape. Regular maintenance is needed.

10) Do clients need maintenance treatments? If so, how often?

Regular treatments on a monthly basis will be needed to maintain the best result.

11) Another reader asked is it possible to make her thin eyebrows look fuller with HD BROWS?

Yes most brows do look fuller but only to a certain extent. It will not replace non-existent brows. Some clients will never achieve HD BROWS result due to genetic hair growth, illnesses etc.

12) With threading and waxing, you usually have to leave hair to grow before the next treatment, is this the same for HD BROWS?

You do not need to let them grow back to bushy again. The aim is to have nicely maintained brows that have a consistent shape.

Thank you so much for your time ladies!

So Obsessed over OCC Lip Tars

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I've got loads to blog about as a result of a dramatic December and I have three new years resolutions;

1. Talk less when blogging as I have a tendency to babble on like I'm writing an exclusive feature for a magazine.

2. To turn my humble blog into a .com, I don't mean like a proper interactive website, just because I'd like to get rid of the blogspot part (no offence blogger).

3. To meet up with all of you amazingly talented and cool beauty bloggers this year!

So, the point of this post is to tell you I have become addicted (obsessively) with the OCC Lip Tars, I first read about these around 2 years ago in Nylon Mag but couldn't find them anywhere in the UK to buy them (and then forgot about them) until I saw Kaushal at Beauty Fulfilled wearing Anime Lip Tar by OCC! I recognised the colour and she confirmed it was the OCC Lip Tar. To my delight, she sent me to where they have ALL the colours!

L: Trick R: Anime

They are super highly pigmented colours, I was expecting a lip gloss but they aren't, they apply like a gloss and they dry matte (they also smell delicously minty). They really stain as well, my lips were stained with Anime the following morning. I recommend you exfoliate and moisturise lips before applying and use a lip brush. You can mix the colours up and have fun or layer with lipgloss or lip balm.

I only have two right now but I am going to put my order in for Harlot and Trollop this week. Can't wait! Wish I could own every colour.

I'm Obesessively Compulsively addicted to these bad gals!
