Alfresco - the ONLY perfume repellent in the world!

I was at a networking event the other night (the same night, my phone got drenched by the monsoon on the King's Road, which has left me phone-less until next week - that's another story) and I met such a cool lady with a unique product....but before I continue, I must ask...

Do you get eaten alive by mosquitos and other foreign bugs abroad? I DO!

I have tried everything you can think of, every type of insect repellent in Boots, eating garlic, marmite..smothering vaseline on my skin to prevent bites. You name it, I have done it. Bugs abroad LOVE my british blood, they are like vampires, drink to their heart's content, leaving me with awful itching and unsightly lumps and bumps.

I was in the Maldives this time last year, I thought I would be safe in my water villa....boy, was I wrong. I don't know what was feasting on me (I didn't see mosquitos) but whatever it/they was/were, I suffered.

I want to shout out from the rooftops about the ONLY perfume repellent in the world - Alfresco! I am actually embarrased I did not know of it before meeting the creator, Sarah-Lou Morris (a lovely warm and friendly woman who was a volunteer at the Chelsea Physic Garden where she was inspired to create this innovation in bug repellent).

The Alfresco range consists of a moisturiser and perfume including pocket sized versions. The perfume smells so good, I would actually wear this as my daily perfume, it's fresh and flowery and as it settles it smells subtly spicey. Beautiful!

Key ingredients: Melissa, Geranium and Lavender.

The Alfresco range has been tested and approved by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and is safe for everyone to use including babies and children.

Celebs are also fans of Alfresco, the cast of 'Die Another Day', 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin', 'Anna and the King', and 'The Horse Whisperer' have all used Alfresco to keep those nasty bags away.

If you're off on your hols, visit www.alfrescoshop.com to keep your tan bump and itch free.

Treat Emo Skin with Natura Bisse's Intensive Tolerance Booster

When I first started blogging, I did a post called ‘Is your skin feeling emotional?’ It was about how skin can become sensitive due to a number of factors such as the environment and from what we are putting on our skin and into our body.

I have discovered the ultimate product which will de-sensitise your skin, you don’t believe me do you?

Everyone I know complains about having sensitive skin, my good friend Pippa didn’t believe me either, she has the most sensitive skin I have ever come across in my life! She can’t even use baby products or aqueous creams on her skin, it is really that sensitive. Pip is in her late twenties and is desperate to start using anti-ageing products but she can’t and she also feels like her skin is ageing, a term called ‘inflamm-aging’. Pippa refused to test this product out until I explained what this beauty has been designed to do.

The product

Natura Bisse have created a complex targeting inflammation; PRO-TOLERANCE PEPTIDE COMPLEX.

Intensive Tolerance Booster, part of the Natura Bisse nb:ceutical collection, is a multi-defence repairing serum that reinforces the skin’s natural barrier while soothing and deeply moisturising damaged skin.

Delightful light peachy serum which smells divine

absorbs instantly

Inflamm-aging

Back to the term ‘inflamm-aging’, this is linked to causing skin sensitivity. Although inflammation is a self-defence mechanism that repairs damaged tissue when triggered, there is another kind of inflammation on an internal level (silent inflammation) which is not visible and is extremely damaging if it becomes chronic (it damages and weakens the structure of the skin, causing it to lose these self-defence capabilities, resulting in sensitivity), the result is skin prone to premature ageing.

Natura Bisse have been able to create the nb:ceutical range as a result of the recent discovery between chronic micro inflammation, skin sensitivity and premature ageing.

After Pippa had tried this product, she came to see me the very next day glowing and beaming with excitement. I assumed she didn’t try the product and had something else exciting to tell me. This is what she said;

Pippa’s review

“This serum is unbelievable! I was so sceptical and scared at the same time to try something so advanced, I was sure that it would irritate my skin further. I literally cannot use anything on my skin, but the intensive tolerance booster soothed the discomfort I regularly suffer and treated the redness, which I suffer from daily.

It also smells heavenly, it’s really light which I love, as I dislike heavy creams. It feels more like a lotion than a serum which I also love. I applied it the night before and awoke with calm clear skin, no redness in sight.

I cannot believe how scared I was to try this product because literally everything else makes me react, Farrah assured me it would work and now I am in love with it but will have to save up for the next 3 months to afford to buy one.

I highly recommend this product to anyone with sensitive skin! I love it!”

RRP: £205 (worth every penny)

This range of Natura Bisse products are available exclusively at Harrods and  Selfridges.

I'll have mine shaken not stirred..at Cocktail Cosmetics

I have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of my order from the fabulous, recently discovered pro make up artist online store, Cocktail Cosmetics.

I was so sick of my make up brush roll, it's a leather one I have had for years and it was such a pain to travel with/carry around (as well as to keep clean). So, thanks to cool kid Kenneth Soh, I bought some cozette brush vessels.

They are available in an assortment of sizes; 4, 7.5, 8 and 9 inch. The ones I bought above are both 9 inches, (silly me should I have got a 7.5 inch for some of my other brushes which are smaller).

I love how light they are, you can easily fit around 5 or 6 brushes depending on how much hair the brushes have. Every pro MUA needs some of these in their life, but these aren't only for MUA's, the beauty about Cocktail Cosmetics is that everyone, whether you're a MUA or not, has access to pro make-up brands and products.

I also welcomed the latest addition to my OCC lip tar collection, meet my 'Grandma'!

Grandma is a true coral and I had lots of fun mixing it with Divine and Anime (as you can see from my OCC lip palette).

Check out www.cocktailcosmetics.co.uk for cozette brushes, the brush holders and OCC lip tars amongst an array of pro MUA brands.

Next on my list are some of the cozette vegan brushes..not that I need them..but hey I guess a former pro MUA can never have too many brushes ;)

Feel FULL for longer with FULLfast

WOW, I so need this in my life right now.

Have you noticed how Italian women are all so HOT! (eg, Monica Bellucci), well apparently Italian women (not Monica Bellucci, as far as I know but wouldn't surprise me if she was using this) are staying slim by spritzing FULLfast under their tongues!

You all know I can't stop eating, especially chocolate and my chocolate-detox lasted all of 2 days. So, when this landed in my inbox, I just had to read on.

Here's the  science part;

"This innovative food supplement comes in the form of a sublingual spray that is spritzed under the tongue (three sprays, 5 times a day).  Its patent-pending formula contains selected botanical extracts of Griffonia, Guarana, Centella Asiatica, Taraxacum, Artichoke and Klamath Algae."

Griffonia extract is a natural source of the serotonin precursor 5-hydroxytryptophan. Serotonin is one of the most important neurotransmitters of the central nervous system and regulates several physiological functions, such as the feeling of satiety and mood.

Klamath Algae physiologically helps to improve mood. The mix of selected extracts contains Guarana, which helps to maintain an ideal body weight and Artichoke, Centella and Taraxacum to facilitate drainage of the excess of body fluids which are generally present in overweight people. This well-balanced composition enables FULLfast™ to help people stick more rigorously to low-calorie diets, improving their success."

When/how to use: Spray under tongue 3 times, 5 times per day.

Price: £19.95

Available from: independent pharmacies and www.fullfastonline.co.uk or scan the QR code below to take you directly to the fullfast website.

Would love to hear your story on this product. I need it NOW!
