HD Brows is the latest craze to hit the beauty world, with all the X Factor contestants recently having them done.
I was extremely fortunate to get the Queen and pioneer of HD Brows, Nilam Patel to answer some questions that you guys have about the HD Brows System. Nilam has been actively involved in the beauty industry for 15 years, with a celebrity client list to add to her credentials, she offers a range of treatments at the Brooklands Clinic in Milton Keynes such as dermal fillers, tooth whitening and cosmetic surgery.

1) What are HD BROWS?
A brow shaping treatment focusing on brow design. It is not tattooing or make-up.
2) Where have HD BROWS come from and why the sudden craze?
From celebrity brow shapers Nilam and Amita Patel who have created the HD BROWS shaping method. The sudden craze is because of the celeb following and the press/media coverage. Katie price trained in the treatment herself along with her make-up artist and beauty therapist so they showed it on her show. After being shown on her show, it created more interest. Cher Lloyd is currently having her brows HD’d to a better shape and the process has been gradual but she is too young to tattoo.
3) What is the difference between a HD BROWS treatment and a regular brow shape and tint?
It is a 7 step process which combines waxing tinting threading. It focuses mainly on brow design not hair removal.
4) What is involved in the process?
Waxing, tinting, threading and design. A HD BROWS Technician takes into account the clients face shape, hair growth, personality, age,etc and expectations to design the best brows for that person. It is not a set or standard shape. It is individually designed. It often requires aftercare and re-growth from the client but the client doesn’t have to walk around with hairy brows for months it can be done gradually.
5) Is it suitable for everyone? (all skin colours/guys?)
Yes, definitely, all ages, skin colours and both male & female. I have a large number of male clients that have this treatment done.
6) How much does it cost?
£25 - £50 depending on where you have it done
7) Katie Price and Colleen Rooney are famous for having HD BROWS and they look quite shiny?
Why is that? Or is that botox not the HD BROWS?
Katie price has her brows tattooed and she has had the HD BROWS treatment as her preferred method of brow shaping to maintain them. Colleen has not had HD BROWS done. As far as I know she has had them tattooed.
When brows are tattooed the client has to put a greasy balm on them so that they heal properly. Katie Price also adds a lot of make up to her brows to make them look much bigger. This is nothing to do with the HD BROWS treatment that is make-up. Also, Katie and Colleen have a preference to how they like their brows to look. HD BROWS is nothing to do with tattooing.
8) One of my readers asked if she is suitable for HD BROWS because she has a scar in her eyebrow.
Will the HD BROWS treatment highlight or disguise the scar?
Depending on where the scar is, it will help disguise it but the client will be shown how to draw in a few hairstrokes to camouflage it every day.
9) How long do HD BROWS last?
It can take a few sessions to achieve the HD BROWS BROW result as many people have over plucked and spoiled their natural shape. Regular maintenance is needed.
10) Do clients need maintenance treatments? If so, how often?
Regular treatments on a monthly basis will be needed to maintain the best result.
11) Another reader asked is it possible to make her thin eyebrows look fuller with HD BROWS?
Yes most brows do look fuller but only to a certain extent. It will not replace non-existent brows. Some clients will never achieve HD BROWS result due to genetic hair growth, illnesses etc.
12) With threading and waxing, you usually have to leave hair to grow before the next treatment, is this the same for HD BROWS?
You do not need to let them grow back to bushy again. The aim is to have nicely maintained brows that have a consistent shape.
Thank you so much for your time ladies!
